Effix Hexa Link
The idea is to create an independent single piece that would serve as an epitome of a public community art and source of simple food refreshments located all around a public space.
Crafted in the form of hexagon this small piece of art, though independent and can be self-expressive, is also designed to link with other Effix Hexa to build a larger and more spacious edifice of a land art.
The main thrust of this proposal is to encourage the community in developing their own food refresher settlements thru the form of a land art and/or public installation, designed, patterned and manufactured in a unique Bulgarian Craftsmanship.
The primary material of the structure is the flexible and lightweight effix concrete with a proposed additional features and alternatives.
Each module has in its core the 3 main advocacies of this installation depicted in each of its major components:
-
Sustainability
-Way atop vertical clearance is the Effix Hexa Canopy, an hexagonal effix concrete frame housing either a wonderfully crafted intricate design pattern of corten steel material casting a diverse array of shadows onto the surfaces or a solar panel to power electrical conduits which give source to different colours of LED fixtures.
-
Creativity
-
Holding the Canopy is the proposed fiber glass concrete post with components of effix concrete and composite glass. The Effix Columnar Fixtures serves both as a supporting post for the Hexa Canopies and a frame for the wooden louvres to enclose the space. These feature also open opportunities for Bulgarian artists of steel, wood and glass to have their crafts installed as an exhibit and enclosure instead of the wooden louvres. The fixtures should have a proposed safety fixings to ensure security to the installation.
-
The Fixture is a durable rectangular effix reinforce concrete glass fiber manufactured in varying heights to support the designers’ intent. Its main requirements are security fixing and a hollow space through to allow power conduits or LED fixtures. LED rope lights can be randomly place within the Effiix Columnar Fixtures depending on the intention of the designers.
-
Adaptability
-
Holding each module firmly on the ground is the Effix Hexa Base. This is a base frame, heavy duty effix concrete, with perforations that fit the fixtures and to allow connection with other Effix Hexa Bases. The base plane can vary from perforated rubber matte to allow stormwater perforation on surfaces or green allotment which will contain native Bulgarian plant species.
A green allotment will be suggested adjacent to the structure boundary to cater the planting of the vines which can eventually climb onto the lattices. The community however, has the upper hand on how they would want their pavilion to look like.
-
The Effix Hexa Base is adaptive to wherever location it will be placed be it soil (of varying contours), pavement and even water. Thus, making the pavilion flexible and transferrable.
-
A Single Module can contain the smallest trading equipment and has a floor area of approximately 2.5 sqm. This structure can be expanded using the playful variations of the Effix Hexa Components.
